As part of the GRAMMY Museum’s celebration of Pride Month, Duncan Laurence talks with Schyler O’Neal from the GRAMMY Museum about his hit single “Arcade,” his debut album, and celebrating music with Pride. Growing up in the tiny Dutch town of Hellevoetsluis, Duncan Laurence discovered the healing power of music. Holed up in his bedroom—avoiding the bullies who harassed him for his love of theatre and art—Laurence sang, turning his darker moments into a light he could spread to anyone who’d listen. Duncan released his debut album Small Town Boy last year, and the single “Arcade” exploded onto the scene. The record just certified GOLD in the US, and the track is First Eurovision Song Contest Winner to Hit Hot 100 in 45 Years.
