The Drop: Vince Gill
48m
The GRAMMY Museum welcomed legendary country artist Vince Gill on September 18, 2019 for a special mid-day program, celebrating the GRAMMY-winner’s iconic career and new, upcoming album OKIE. One of the most popular singers in modern country music, Vince Gill is famous for his top-notch songwriting, world-class guitar playing and warm, soaring tenor, all wrapped up in a quick and easy wit. At the time of his visit to the GRAMMY Museum in 2019, Gill was a winner of 21 GRAMMY Awards and 18 CMA Awards, including Song of the Year four times, making him the most-awarded artist in that category in CMA history. He has been awarded the prestigious BMI Icon award and was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2007. He is also a member of the Grand Ole Opry. In August 2012, Gill was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Gill was invited to be a touring member of the Eagles in 2017 and continues to join them on stage around the world. A recording artist for MCA records, Gill’s album OKIE was released August 23, 2019.
