Bubbling Brooklyn-bred artist, J.I has over 85 million views on YouTube for his single “Need Me,” the record he released last year under the EP, Hood Life Krisis Vol. 1. The project helped him pave the way to being named an artist to watch in 2021 by Billboard, UPROXX, and Vulture. The hit song instantly became a fan favorite and since it’s release then has gone on to chart Top 20 on Urban Radio and reach Platinum status. Following his debut in 2019, J.I shared four EP’s, which have now generated over 700 million streams. Last summer the rising rapper shared his label-debut, Welcome To GStarr Vol. 1 via G*Starr Ent./Geffen Records – it features collaborations with Lil Durk, Nav, and Latin artist, Myke Towers. His body of work led him to receive major support from Spotify, who chose him to be the second artist to be highlighted in their RADAR program (helping share the stories of new emerging global artists with their users), it also received praise from Vulture, Billboard, Complex, XXL, ABC News, Pitchfork and more. Most recently he shared the latest installment of his mixtape trilogy, Hood Life Krisis Vol. 3 which features 7-tracks including a solo Reggaetón single, “Suficiente,” as well as the highly anticipated collaboration, “R&B Shit,” with fellow NYC rapper, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie (XXL’s “13 Best New Songs of the Week”). The project garnered rave reviews from Complex (“has quickly grown to become one of the brightest acts out right now”), Billboard (“J.I. looks to bearhug the NY rap scene once more with his third installment.”), HotNewHipHop (the young emcee did not disappoint on the new project”) and more. He was also named one of Rolling Stone’s “Biggest Breakthrough Artists of 2020” and landed a spot on The New York Times “Best Songs of 2020 Playlist.” At 19-years-old, J.I. continues to be a force to be reckoned with.
